About me and how to reach me.

I am a storyteller. I have long experience as songwriter and lyricist, author of fiction and academic works, and teacher of students. I am a doctor of film studies, specialising in horror and the fantastic in genre entertainment. All my interests and all my work share the field of storytelling.

Born in Oslo, I grew up both East and West in Norway and had a very early interest in film and music. Watching Star Wars at age 7 changed my life. I soon started writing and drawing my own Star Wars comics, sensing that telling stories was meaningful.

I picked up the guitar at 8 years old and was in my first band at 10. I also started singing, by necessity, and as an adult I would even begin to enjoy singing. I still make music in Keldian and Madam Curie.

After high school I moved to Trondheim and eventually completed my MA in film studies. I subsequently got my PhD in horror film and literally wrote the book on the Norwegian horror genre with Norwegian Nightmares: The Horror Cinema of a Nordic Country (2022).

I have authored several produced stage plays, as well as yet unproduced screenplays, and I am currently and constantly working on what will become a series of fantasy novels.

I am available for talks and coaching on creative writing, cinematic storytelling, genre entertainment, the film experience, and the aesthetics of horror and the fantastic.
